Growing Groceries Class at WSU Extension

Written by Lys B.
The first ever Growing Groceries class in Jefferson County started at the end of January with 15 students seated in WSU Extension’s Madrona Room and 35 on the waiting list. People in Jefferson County WANT to learn more about how to grow their own food!… especially healthy, organic food!! We are half way through the classroom presentations and want to thank the succession of excellent speakers who delivered WONDERFUL presentations, including: Jadyne Riechner, Steve Harbersetzer, Judy Alexander, Lys Burden, Laura Lewis, Roger Short, Dana Ecelberger, Linda Pfafman and Laurel Moulton to date. With three more classes and three field trip/practicum sessions to go, students are so enthusiastic that it is hard to get them to go home at 9 pm, after the three-hour sessions on Friday evenings.
