The 2018 Master Gardener Yard and Garden Lectures will be held Saturday mornings from 10:00am to12:15pm, January 13-February 17, 2018, at the Port Townsend Community Center on Tyler Street Uptown. Series tickets are $55 and can be purchased at Henery’s Garden Center or brownpapertickets.com. On January 20, Kateen Fitzgerald will discuss medicinal herbs.
We thank Kateen Fitzgerald for offering her time this year! Michael Pilarski, the Yard and Garden lecture series speaker scheduled for Saturday, January 20th, has been called away to a family emergency. The Master Gardeners are very happy to welcome Kateen Fitzgerald who will speak in his stead on Herbalscaping: Landscaping with Medicinal Plants.
Kateen is owner of the 40 acre Compass Rose Farm and the Dirt Rich School of Permaculture. As a Master Gardener from Colorado, Kateen has been a gardener, herbalist, landscaper, farmer and educator for over 20 years. She lives, works and teaches bio-intensively, using no till raised beds for vegetables and herbs, and applying permaculture design, modern homesteading, holistic animal husbandry and sustainable food/herb production into her everyday life. We are thrilled to welcome her to our lecture series.
