Our popular Growing Groceries class is taught by seasoned Master Gardeners who specialize in growing food.
Location: Food Co-op Annex, 2110 Lawrence, Port Townsend
Time: Thursday mornings 9 – 11:30, March 21 – April 25th
Cost: $50 for class, suggested donation of $10 to attend Saturday seed starting workshop (4/6) and field trip (4/20)

This 6-week in-person course will focus on the following garden essentials. Class will include lectures and activities on the following topics:
- Garden design, site conditions and considerations;
- Soil health, amendments and improvements;
- Seed starting
- Crop rotation, cover crops and plant families
- Season extenders
- Common disease and insect problems
- Pollinator and beneficial insects

Each participant will receive a notebook with WSU publications to supplement the classroom learning.

Spring Topics include: soils, best cultivation practices, seed starting, early spring pest management and spring pests/diseases
Fall Topics include: soil improvement, garden styles, including permaculture and container gardening, crop rotation, bed preparation and irrigation.
