When she retired after 30 years, Nita became a Jefferson County master gardener (class of 2013) and has been one of the instructors for the local Growing Groceries class for the past nine years. Year-round gardening, managing worm bins, supporting beneficial insects and native pollinators are her gardening priorities. She continues to value the great gardeners she meets and the life-long learning opportunity that gardening provides.
In her “Pollinator Plantings: Resources to Perfect the Process” talk, Nita will share an extensive list of resources and inspiration that she’s discovered while converting more and more of the suburban lot surrounding her house into better pollinator habitat. A succession of simple changes can lead to big results for pollinators.
