PT Gleaners: History and Community Service
The Jefferson County Master Gardener Foundation Presents “PT Gleaners: History and Community Service” on Thursday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at the WSU Extension Classroom in Port Hadlock. Learn how each fall neighborhood backyard orchards feed into our schools, food banks, and other local organizations.
Master Gardener and gleaner Mary Hunt will cover the evolution of these Saturday morning volunteers as they pick, plant, prune, and sauce fruit to give away. In 2023 that distribution amounted to over 15,000 pounds!
