Projects We Have Funded

Jefferson County Master Gardener Foundation

Grants/ Scholarship Money at Work!!  The Master Gardener Foundation Grants Committee in Jefferson County was established in 2008. Since that year, approximately $60,000 has been awarded to the residents of Jefferson County to benefit “not for profit” projects in agricultural education and horticulture using current sustainable practices. Examples of projects awarded include: signs for trees, brochures, deer fences, worm bins, rain garden installations, hoop houses, tools for students, irrigation systems, and tool sheds. Awards were given to community projects/gardens such as schools, food bank gardens and agricultural projects that benefit the community.

What we look for:

  • Volunteers committed and belief in the project (will do something, even if not funded)
  • A well-thought-out plan
  • Budget that is specific as to what they will buy (labor  and administrative costs not included)
  • A plan using WSU sustainable, environmentally friendly practices
  • The project will serve a number of Jefferson County residents or students
  • A project that has a view to sustainability
