Master Gardener Training Course – March 5th for 11 weeks

Each year WSU Jefferson County trains new Master Gardeners to be effective community educators in gardening and environmental stewardship. We are continuing our rich tradition, welcoming new members every year.

The WSU Extension Master Gardener Program is open to everyone with an interest in gardening and a willingness to use their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to make a positive impact on their local community.

As a trainee, you will be using an online course provided by WSU, which you do mostly on your own time. We will supplement this training with classroom time, field trips, and group activities. There will be a balance between self-study/computer time and hands-on activities in the classroom.

Fast computer web access is necessary for compatibility. The WSU Extension office in Point Hudson will provide computer lab time for anyone who does not have a computer at home.

Classes take place at the Tri Area Community Center in Chimacum.

The cost for this course is $250, of which $70 goes directly to WSU for the online training course. There’s a new option available this year to have $50 refunded back to the student once the required 100 volunteer hours have been completed.
